Notable Women

The WSR has been carrying out the long-term project Notable Women of the 20th Century, which has so far resulted in monographs on Neda Božinović (Gordana Stojaković, 2002), a feminist, peace activist, and politician; Jelica Rajačić Čapaković (Svenka Savić, 2008), a politician and the first Secretary for Gender Equality in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina; and Erika Marjaš (Svenka Savić, 2018), a renowned prima ballerina of the SNT Ballet. All of these monographs employ a polyphonic approach: the woman tells her own story, the author provides the narrative, and numerous ‘others’ contribute by sharing their memories of the notable woman.
